Build a complete NFL roster, not just a highlight reel

Most roster games stop at picking your favorite stars. This team builder makes you construct a real football team: one quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, one tight end, two flex skill spots, and a full six-man defense — edge rusher, interior lineman, linebacker, cornerback, safety and a defensive flex. Twelve decisions, and every one of them shows up in your final record.

How the builder works

You don't get a free-for-all list of every player ever. Each round, the spinner lands on one real franchise in one era — maybe the 1990s Packers, maybe the 2010s Seahawks — and you draft exactly one player from that squad into an open position. Two team re-rolls and two era re-rolls let you dodge a bad board, but spend them early and you're stuck with whatever the late spins give you. That scarcity is what separates a thrown-together lineup from a constructed one.

Position value is real

The simulation weighs your roster the way the modern NFL does: the quarterback counts 1.5×, and the premium positions on defense — edge rusher and cornerback — count 1.2×. A 95-rated quarterback moves your season more than a 95-rated tight end. Good builders plan their re-rolls around landing those three spots first.

Then the season grades your work

When the twelfth player locks in, the simulator plays 17 regular-season games plus three playoff rounds. It's fully deterministic — the same twelve players always produce the same record — so your result is a pure measurement of the roster you built. Post it to the daily leaderboard, or send the lineup to a friend as a challenge.

FAQ

Is this NFL team builder free?

Yes — free, no account, no download. It runs in your browser on mobile and desktop.

Can I mix players from different eras?

Yes. Each spin lands on a franchise and an era, so a finished roster typically spans several decades — a ’70s pass rusher next to a 2020s quarterback.

Which positions matter most?

Quarterback carries a 1.5× weight in the simulation, and edge rusher and cornerback carry 1.2×. Prioritize those three spots when deciding where to spend re-rolls.

Can the same player fill any position?

No — players are only eligible for positions they actually played. Flex spots accept any skill player on offense, and the defensive flex accepts any defender.
